Uncharted

(Built by Uncharted)

Client portal

One place for the work, the meetings and the decisions. Every deliverable, review, board pre-read and company update from an engagement, for founders, their teams and their investors.

  • Every deliverable, labeled and current

Documents open as a flipbook with comments pinned to the page, every version kept, and a clear Draft, Updated or Approved on each.

  • Feedback on the frame it's about

Comments sit on an editor-style timeline. Click a moment, leave a note, and anyone can jump straight back to it.

  • A record of every meeting that matters

The agenda, who was there, the notes, the Otter recording and its transcript, kept together under Data Spaces.

  • A pre-read instead of a deck

Build the board meeting in sections, attach documents and team meetings, and publish when it's ready.

  • Directors arrive prepared

Directors read, ask questions on the section they're about and pre-vote, so the meeting is spent on decisions.

  • Keep Uncharted in the loop

Post a milestone, new numbers, a hire or an ask, with a chart or a file, so the help you get fits where you are.

Why we built it

Working with dozens of startups from pre-seed to Series B, we've watched the agency's role change. Founders don't need a vendor that drops off files and disappears. They need a partner in the room: shaping the story before a raise, preparing the board, hiring the first designers, keeping launch work moving between meetings. Work that hands-on needs a home of its own.

  • 01

The work moved closer to the company

Brand and product now feed straight into fundraising, hiring and board prep. Our deliverables sit next to the company's most important documents, so they belong somewhere built for that.

  • 02

Shared folders weren't built for it

Files in a drive, feedback in email, decisions in a call nobody wrote down. Every engagement started by rebuilding the same scaffolding.

  • 03

    Founders became the switchboard

Forwarding links, re-explaining context, chasing who approved what. Time that should go into the company went into coordination.

  • 04

    So we built the room

One space per company where the work, the meetings and the decisions stay together, and where the people who need to see them can.

Why it matters for early-stage teams and their investors

Early-stage companies run on a handful of tools and a lot of trust. The portal is designed to cut down the first and build the second.

  • A smaller stack

Documents, reviews, meetings, board pre-reads and updates behind one login, instead of a drive, a deck tool, a notes app and an inbox stitched together.

  • Important documents in one place

Contracts, brand systems, decks, board materials and meeting records live together, versioned, with the approvals attached.

  • Transparency into agency work

See what we're working on, what's waiting on you and what's been delivered, without asking for a status update.

  • Happier investors

Directors get a pre-read they can actually read, a place to ask questions and pre-vote, and a clear record afterwards. Less friction, more visibility.

Getting started

What is the Uncharted client portal?

A private workspace for every company we work with. It holds the deliverables from your engagement, the reviews and approvals on them, your team and board meetings, and the updates you share with us.

We designed and built it ourselves, and we keep improving it as clients use it.

How do I sign in?

Enter your work email and we send a one-time link and a six-digit code. There are no passwords to set or forget.

The link and code work once and expire after 15 minutes. Once you're in, you stay signed in on that device for 30 days.

Who can see our dashboard?

Each company has its own dashboard, visible only to the people on it and to the Uncharted team. Teammates request access from the sign-in page and we approve each request, so the right people see the right company.

Board directors and other guests can be invited to a single board meeting without seeing anything else on the dashboard.

Can I bring my team in?

Yes. Anyone on your team can request access with their work email. To share one document with someone outside the portal, send it by email from the document itself; they don't need an account.

Is the portal included in a retainer?

Yes. Every retainer runs through the portal. Dashboards come with every engagement. Data Spaces, for team meetings and board meetings, come with 6-month retainers and longer. 9-month+ retainers get the full Uncharted OS, including an investor-facing data room.

Documents and review

What goes on a dashboard?

Every document from the engagement: contracts, design reviews, brand assets, presentations and videos. Each one is labeled with its type so the list reads at a glance. Both sides can upload, and we're notified as soon as you add something.

How do statuses work?

Every document is Draft, Updated or Approved. The top of the dashboard shows what's waiting on you, so you never have to ask what needs your attention.

When something is ready, mark it Approved. The approval is recorded against that version, so there's no doubt later about what was signed off.

How do comments work?

Comments sit beside the document and can be pinned to a page. PDFs open as a flipbook, and clicking a comment turns the book to the page it's about. Every version is kept with its conversation attached.

How do I share a document with someone outside the portal?

Share it by email from the document, with an optional note. Everyone you send it to gets a download link that works for 14 days. Nobody needs an account.

Video review

How does video review work?

Videos play in an editor-style player with a timeline. Click a moment and leave a comment at that timestamp. Comments show as markers on the timeline; hover to read one, click it to jump back to that frame.

Can I point someone to an exact moment?

Yes. Copy a link to the current moment from the player and send it anywhere. It opens the video at that timestamp.

Team meetings

What is a team meeting in the portal?

A record of a meeting that matters: the agenda, who was invited and who attended, notes, the recording and its transcript. Team meetings live under Data Spaces, next to your board meetings, and everyone on the dashboard can read them.

Does it work with Otter?

Yes. Paste an Otter link and the portal shows its preview. If your company has an Otter Enterprise workspace, “Find in Otter” searches your recordings and attaches the link, summary, transcript, calendar guests and date in one click.

You can always upload a transcript file yourself instead.

Which transcript files can I upload?

Plain text, SRT and VTT subtitles, Word (.docx), PDF, JSON and Markdown, up to 25 MB each.

Can a team meeting go into a board pre-read?

Yes. Attach it to a section of a board meeting the way you'd attach a document. Directors and viewers of that board meeting can open the record from the pre-read, and only from there.

Board meetings

What is a board meeting Data Space?

A pre-read built in sections instead of slides, with the agenda, the votes and the people invited. Each section has an owner and a draft; publishing turns the drafts into what directors read. The same format works for investor updates and all-hands.

How should we write a section?

Each section can follow a short framework: What you need to know, Highlights, Lowlights, Key initiatives, What's keeping me up at night, and Key takeaways. Reporting stays brief, and the meeting is left for discussion.

Working notes can sit below a divider in the section. They stay with the editors and are never published.

What can directors do before the meeting?

Read the pre-read and see their progress as they go, ask a question or comment on any section, open attached documents and team meetings, and pre-vote For, Against or Abstain on each resolution. They can change a pre-vote until the outcome is recorded.

Can we see who has read it?

Yes. Analytics show who has opened each section, so you know who's come prepared. A meeting checklist tracks the path from first draft to signed minutes.

How are minutes handled?

The portal drafts the minutes from what it already knows: who was there, the agenda, and every vote with its tally. Edit them, then directors sign in the Data Space. Editing the minutes after signing clears the signatures, so a signature always matches the text.

Who can do what?

Your team edits. Board directors read, comment, pre-vote and sign the minutes. Viewers read and comment. Uncharted can help build the pre-read alongside you.

Company updates

What are company updates?

Short notes you post for Uncharted: a milestone, new numbers, a product or customer win, a hire, a fundraise, or an ask for help. Add a chart, a photo or a file of up to 50 MB when it helps.

Who sees them?

Your company and Uncharted. Clients only ever see their own company's updates. We read them across every engagement before calls, so the help we give fits where you are.

Will Uncharted see an update right away?

Leave “Let Uncharted know” ticked when you post and we get an email as soon as it's up.

Security and your data

Where are our files kept?

In private storage. A file is only served after the portal checks that you have access to that company's dashboard, or to the board meeting it's attached to. Share links carry their own token and stop working after 14 days.

Who owns what we put in the portal?

You do. Your documents, meeting records and updates belong to your company. Ask us to remove anything, and we will.

After your retainer

Can we keep using the portal after our retainer ends?

Yes. Companies can license the platform once their retainer ends and keep their dashboards, Data Spaces and company records running. 9-month+ retainers include the option of a reduced-rate license.

How do we request a license?

Email hello@uncharted.global and tell us about your team. We'll walk you through the options.

After your retainer

Keep the portal running for your team

License the platform once your retainer ends, and keep your dashboards, Data Spaces and company records in one place.
